# Introducing GoDaddy Auctions’s agent for deeper domain discovery

Discovering expired domains is still a manual process. Domain buyers search, apply filters, scan listings, and repeat. The more signals you care about, the more time it takes.

AI tools can now automate research and support valuation. But that hasn't solved the core problem. Speed and decision quality still depend on the buyer.

So the GoDaddy Auctions team asked: what if domain acquisition started with intent, not filters?

Expired auctions offer valuable domain name opportunities, but buyers need to actively discover and validate domains to find the right ones that best match their business idea.

Expired domains are especially valuable because they often come with built-in SEO authority, existing traffic, and strong brand potential, which helps to reduce the time and cost to get a business online. Many were originally registered years ago, meaning they include unique, high-quality names that are no longer available through standard registration.

Buyers need to:

- Combine multiple signals like keyword demand, comparable sales, extension fit
- Evaluate quality like brandability or overall market potential
- Act at the right moment, spotting new domains early or bidding strategically

If you're a domain investor, you're probably familiar with aggregators like expireddomains.net. They're powerful and allow granular filtering against your strategy. But if you're an everyday entrepreneur looking for one good domain, you'll likely get overwhelmed. There's a huge information gap, and it takes time and skill to close it.

AI helps with parts of this. It can analyze data and support valuation. But on its own, outcomes are still inconsistent results, depending on how well the tools interpret context, how much manual work the buyer still must do.

## How to access the Acquisition Agent

Go to [Ask Airo](https://www.godaddy.com/askairo?airoHQ=full) and type what you're looking for in plain language. For example: “Show me expired domains below $100 that would work for an online booking startup.”

## Our Acquisition Agent offers a different approach to domaining

As part of GoDaddy’s broader push into AI (e.g., bringing natural language experiences directly into our products), the agent was built to help buyers identify the right domains.

Instead of using classic filters, buyers start with intent:

- ".com under $500 with strong backlinks"
- "Brandable names under 12 characters"
- "Domains under $100 for a booking app startup"

The agent interprets what you're looking for, searches GoDaddy's expired domain inventory, and returns a focused shortlist. From there, you can refine results by adding more criteria in the chat or take action directly.

## What can the Acquisition Agent do today?

The Acquisition Agent handles the technical side so buyers can focus on choosing the right domain. Current capabilities:

- **Natural language search:**Describe what you want instead of configuring filters
- **Price filtering:**Set budget constraints
- **Auction timing:**Find domains ending soon or added today
- **Valuation signals:** Include GoValue estimates to help evaluate opportunities
- **Watchlist integration:** Add domains directly from the chat
- **Direct links:**Jump to the domain details page to place a bid
- **Buy now:**Access to purchase available Closeout domains

The system matches your intent to auction data, applies valuation signals, and filters by price or timing. You stay focused on evaluation, not setup.

## What changes for domain buyers?

This reduces time spent on setup and filtering. Buyers can:

- Surface high-signal domains faster
- Combine constraints without manual effort
- Iterate quickly on ideas

As AI adoption grows, competition increases. More buyers are using data-driven tools to find opportunities faster. Speed becomes the advantage. This shifts the workflow from scanning lists to evaluating opportunities.

## What's already changing in GoDaddy Auctions

GoDaddy Auctions has been moving in the agentic direction for a while. We've added AI-generated logos and descriptions to expired domain listing pages, making it easier to visualize what you can do with a domain. Early results have been positive, and this has set the foundation for the [Acquisition Agent](https://www.godaddy.com/askairo?airoHQ=full).

- Domain discovery
- Decision validation
- Domain acquisition

These processes now happen in one intuitive flow, and the agentic system helps buyers navigate it.

## What's next for the Acquisition Agent?

In this current version, the team focused on domain discovery and partial decision validation. The next iteration will focus on domain acquisition automation.
