https to https redirect

We recently changed our site domain and want to have visitors to the https version of the old site redirected to the https version of the new site.

e.g.,

User who browses to https://oldsite.com

Should be redirected to https://newsite.com

How can I implement this? Forwarding without this SSL requirement is very straightforward, but how can it be done with SSL?

@nt123 in order to do that, you should have a new SSL for your newdomain.com site

If you find my replies helpful, give me a like or kudo 🙂
And if I solved your issue, mark it as solution 😄

I do have an SSL both for oldsite and newsite.

How can I configure the redirect?

I was able solve this as follows

1. Create an add-on domain for the old domain

2. Secure old domain and new domain with UCC certificate

3. Set wildcard redirect from old domain to new domain (cpanel -> redirect OR cpanel -> addon domains -> modify addon domain)
