Regain access to my account when I do not have access to the original account email address

When you use your email address to sign in to your account, we'll send a temporary access code to the email address we have on file for your account. Or, you might already be signed in to your account but you're trying to perform a high-risk task like editing sensitive information. We'll send that temporary code in these cases as well. But it's possible that you no longer have access to that email address, and you will not be able to get that code. Follow these steps to reset the account email address and regain access to your account.

  1. In your account home page, in the top right corner, select Sign in and then select Sign in from the menu.
  2. In the Sign in message, select Use email.
  3. In the Welcome message, enter your email address (we already know this will not work) and then select Continue. We'll reply with a message that says we sent the temporary code to that email address.
  4. At the bottom of that reply message, select Can't access your email?. The Account Recovery form appears.
  5. Select Start Verification and follow the prompts to complete a recovery request. We'll review your information and respond within 48 hours.
Required: You'll need to upload a color copy of your government-issued photo identification to complete the Account Recovery process and ensure the security of the account. Specific details must be shown in your upload.
