Hey there!
It sounds like something may be causing a fatal error in the PHP coding for some reason. Based on what you're saying, it sounds like you're getting the WSOD (White Screen of Death.) This typically indicates a 500 internal server error has occurred, which a very generic error which means something has gone wrong in your website installation itself. The easiest way to determine what the root cause may be would be to turn on WP debugging. Here's how.
Enable Debug errors in WordPress
Troubleshoot WordPress Plugin Errors
Troubleshoot Theme Errors in WordPress
If none of those techniques cover it, I would suggest considering purchasing a WP Premium Support package and have some WP devs take a look at it.
