Using O365 and Godaddy professional email under same domain

We are already using O365 email registered under an existing domain. Now we need to create few more email Ids which need not have a full features as O365. So we are looking for cheaper options under godaddy profession emails. But Godaddy customer support mentioning that if a domain is used for O365 email then it cant be shared with other email options.

Is there an option for us to use both O365 email and other professional email with the same domain address? Or if there is a work around also please advice.

Simple answer: No

The way email works is based on the designated MX (mail exchange) servers for a particular mail service per domain.  There is no way to split those MX servers between two services for one domain to be used at the same time.

The complicated answer:  Beyond MX servers, pretty much nothing is "impossible" with a highly skilled and creative network guy/gal at the helm to manipulate IPs and email forwards to accomplish something similar.

But it would be a highly customized solution that is enough to make your head spin (and out of my wheelhouse).  😉
