How long does it take to migrate a site?
Migrations can take up to 10 business days but they are often completed in less time.
Will my site go down during the migration?
To migrate your site we make a copy of the site and move the copy to its new home. We don't make any changes to your live site, so it shouldn't be impacted by the migration. There is rarely downtime during the migration process.
Can I keep working on my site while you move it?
We strongly advise against making any changes while your migration is in progress, because it can lead to data loss or prevent your site from loading correctly. If you have a website that needs to be updated frequently, please speak with our team and we may be able to work with you to find a solution.
Can you expedite my site migration?
Site migrations are completed in the order they are received. With the high volume of migrations completed by our team, we aren't able to expedite migrations.
My server or hosting expires in less than 10 days, can you move my site before then?
If you are moving from one GoDaddy server to another, please reach out to our team and we will see if it's possible. If you are moving to GoDaddy from a different hosting provider, we strongly advise you to extend your hosting by a month so there's enough time to complete the migration.
Can you help me make changes to my site?
Our team has a lot of experience and knowledge with site migrations, so we are confident there. However, making updates to site is a completely different discipline and we aren't equipped to help update your site. We will defer to the site experts to help with that. If you find that you need some help with site updates or even a new site, GoDaddy does have a team that specializes in just that.
