Why do I need strong passwords or 2-step verification?
Your GoDaddy account is very valuable. It can hold your customers' personal information, domains that can be sold or transferred, and hosting that can be configured for illegal activities. On the dark web, your GoDaddy account is worth about 100x your Facebook account.
A strong password is the first and most important line of defense. 2-step verification provides an additional layer of security that is very hard to penetrate: Someone might get their hands on your secure password, but what are the chances of someone getting your secure password and access to your phone or email account?

A strong password is hard for others to guess. Here are some tips for creating strong passwords:

- Make the password as long as practical.
- Don’t use personally identifiable terms, such as your name or birthdate.
- Avoid using common words or phrases. If you use an identifiable word in your password, consider spelling it wrong.
