Bug Squashing

Hi all,

We're going to post the known bugs that we're experiencing in Community in this thread. When a bug is fixed (please have patience with us as we work through the bugs), we'll post the fixes in a post in the Welcome & Announcements Forum.

Here are some of the known bugs right now:

Formatted text and other post content isn't appearing correctly. This applies to links, numbered and bulleted lists, and smileys appearing on new lines.

Uploading a photo. This has been fixed as of 3/23/16. - Rachel

Please keep letting us know what else you see.

Thanks much!

Rachel

Re: Bug Squashing

This post (of all posts :-)) is somehow cloned in the Topics list and shows twice 🙂

EDIT: Probably because this post is pinned. Not really desired behaviour though.

Re: Bug Squashing

@MikeOne - Yup, that's the intended behaviour. Pinned threads only show for logged-in members. It's basicaly a shortcut to the thread, wherever it may be in the forum. (It's different from how other forum software works, but shouldn't be too much of an issue once community activity picks up.)

Re: Bug Squashing

I'm not sure if it's just me but I can't seem to get the search feature to work... I tried searching for topics and tags that I know already exist in the community but the search bar its self  doesnt seem to be working at all... It wont even tell me that my search yielded no results...

Re: Bug Squashing

I made a post and the bullets didn't show so I am going to test them here. Please forgive me if it works out fine, but if not, perhaps I can find a bug. Here goes!

  • This is a bullet.

This is a paragraph that's not.

  • This is one.
  • This is two.
  • This is three.

How's it look?

Re: Bug Squashing

This may be a @rd thing but since I can be a bit long on the keyboard, I have some saved post drafts. When I have a saved draft in any category and create a new post OR reply to a post in the same category there seems to be a conflict? I get all kinds of save and load errors and some overwriting of my previously saved content in the same category?

autosave-error.pngIs it just me?

...turns out that my two cents is worth less or more depending on the current exchange rate.

Re: Bug Squashing

Hi Rachel,

sorry to ask, but didn't you test the community before going live!?

I thought Godaddy is an IT firm and know how to test software before going live.

If I read this I get my doubts.

Re: Bug Squashing

Hey @LoonyOne

Great question! As a matter of fact we did. We tested the Community with a small group of GoDaddy customers for about 5 weeks before we went live at the end of March. All of the bugs that were mentioned in the post were all fixed before we went live. Take care!

Bugs to add to the Wish List:

1) If you start to write in Rich Text, but then switch to HTML, you lose everything you wrote in Rich Text.

2) Using HTML in HTML mode ... shows the HTML code in the published post.

Thanks,

Mark

Re: Bug Squashing

Full disclosure, this might just be a @rd thing but I have seen double posts before (and made them), I think this is why? I got this when posting today, an error and success message on the same post. What I have done before was just click the post again having never scrolled down to the success message. Is it just me?

Re: Bug Squashing

Hey @rd,

Thanks for reporting this issue! It would be really helpful to us if you would capture some screen shots of what's happening and send to me also with what browser you're using. I'm sure you're not alone in this. Thanks!

Re: Bug Squashing

Is anyone else having a problem with changing the color of the bullets in the site editor? I've tried everything to match the bullet color (stays black) to my text color (white), but nothing works.

Hi @Reyna21, Are you referring to the GoDaddy Community site or your own website? Please let us know. Thanks!
