I have recieved above email from my own email ID. Please investigate ASAP.
Hi @divya_user. Thanks for posting. I've seen almost this exact email before. It is a fairly common scare tactic. If the message was marked as spam, there's usually a good reason. It is possible to send an email indicating a "from" address that is not where the actual email came from. This is fairly easy to do if you have your own email server. This is typically called spoofing. If the email had come from within your own address, it wouldn't usually be classified as spam. However, I would suggest updating your passwords. You may also want to report the email to law enforcement.
I just received this same email. I have several accounts from separate providers but only this one is getting this emails, plus other obvious phishing type emails. Is GoDaddy mail servers that easy to hack?
Hi @LLivingston. No. This isn't a matter of email servers getting hacked. It's likely spoofing. Take a look at this thread for a more thorough discussion on the topic.
As a side note, we do have brute force protection on email logins.
