Using the GoDaddy Payments loyalty program
The loyalty program is an easy way for you to offer special incentives and discounts to reward (and encourage!) your repeat customers.
Once you’ve activated your loyalty program, your customers can enroll and start earning points when they make their next in-person purchase on a GoDaddy smart terminal. Customers can associate their loyalty rewards to a specific credit card or phone number and keep an eye on their reward status via their digital loyalty card.

How does the loyalty program work?
The loyalty program is simple to set up and use. Here’s how it works in a nutshell:
- Create and activate a loyalty campaign in your GoDaddy Payments Dashboard.
- Customers automatically earn loyalty points each time they make a purchase in your in-person store.
- Customers are prompted to redeem any eligible rewards whenever they make a purchase.
How do I set up the loyalty program?
Here's how to create and activate your loyalty campaign through your GoDaddy Payments Dashboard:
- Sign in to the Dashboard where you manage your GoDaddy Payments account (use your GoDaddy username and password).
- From the left-nav, select Loyalty.
- Enter your loyalty program details. You can also check out the tooltips as you go to help you get things ready.
- Campaign name: Add a customer-facing name for your loyalty program.
- Accrual: Decide what to call your unit types (for example, "points" or "bucks") and set a threshold for when customers can redeem a reward.
- Customer Loyalty Card: Add an image that customers will see when they access their digital loyalty card online. You can also adjust the notification that iOS users see when they're near your business.
- Redemption: Customize the message that customers see when they earn a reward, and set a maximum value for the reward.
- When you have everything set the way you want it, select Save Loyalty Program.
- To activate your loyalty program, switch the Enable campaign toggle on. You're ready to go!
How do customers earn loyalty points?
Once you’ve activated your loyalty program, customers can create a loyalty account by entering their phone number at checkout. They'll earn points for all credit card or cash purchases associated with their account.
Reward points are automatically tied to your customers' credit card. A phone number isn't required to participate. However, adding a phone number will ensure that their points accrue and combine under one loyalty account, regardless of the payment method they use for future purchases.
- Create an order with the GoDaddy smart terminal.
- Select Charge or Cash.
- Your customer can associate their purchase with the loyalty program:
- For credit card transactions, ask the customer to tap Join after they select a receipt type, and then enter their phone number to tie the points to their loyalty account. If this option doesn't appear, their credit card is already associated with a loyalty account.
- For cash transactions, tap the Loyalty icon when it appears on the merchant screen. Ask the customer to enter their phone number when prompted to tie the points to their loyalty account.
- Complete the transaction.
- Your customer will receive a text shortly. Ask them to follow the directions in the text if they'd like to link their loyalty info to their digital loyalty card.
Where do customers redeem a reward?
When your customer has earned enough points to qualify for a reward, they'll be prompted to redeem the reward when they make a purchase in your store.
- Create an order with the GoDaddy smart terminal.
- Select Charge or Cash.
- Verify whether the customer has a reward they can redeem:
- For credit card transactions, any redeemable rewards will display for them when they use their credit card.
- For cash transactions, tap the Loyalty icon when it appears on the merchant screen. Ask the customer to enter their phone number when prompted. Any redeemable rewards will display for them.
- The customer can tap Redeem Now to redeem the reward. (They can also choose to Save for Later if they don't want to use it now.)
- If a phone number isn't already associated with the customer's loyalty account, they'll be prompted to enter one.
- Complete the transaction. The appropriate amount will automatically discount from the total.
Can I see or adjust a customer's loyalty points?
Yes. You can track and adjust points for your customers through the GoDaddy Payments Dashboard or on the smart terminal.
- In the GoDaddy Payments Dashboard: Select Customers from the left-nav and locate the customer in your customer list. Select Actions, then select View Loyalty rewards to review or add loyalty points.
- On the GoDaddy smart terminal: Tap the Loyalty icon that appears when your customer swipes a card associated with a loyalty account. You can review their loyalty points and add points manually or in preset incremental amounts.
How do my customers track their loyalty points?
When customers enter a phone number to opt in during checkout, they'll receive a text with the URL where they can track the loyalty points in their digital loyalty card. The link is also included in the SMS receipt for any future purchases in your store. Your customers can use the URL to review their current account balance and any available rewards.
