About .vg domains

All .vg domains have the same requirements, restrictions, and supported features, such as registrations and renewals, transfers, and DNS.

Registrations and renewals

Anyone can register .vg domains on a first-come, first-served basis.

New registrations

• Registration length: 1-1 years
• Must use: 1-63 characters
• Can use: Letters (a-z characters), numbers (0-9) and hyphens (except in the 3rd and 4th characters of the domain name)
• Cannot use: Special characters (e.g., & or #)
• IDNs (Internationalized Domain Names): Not Supported

Renewals

• Renewal length: 1-1 years
• You can manually renew your domain . We'll attempt to auto-renew , and we'll park the domain after the first failed billing attempt. Redemption fees may be applied . Check out the standard expiration timeline for details on what happens after expiration.

Features

• Transfers to GoDaddy: Not Supported
• Transfers away from GoDaddy: Supported
• Contact a GoDaddy Guide to get an authorization code before initiating the transfer with the new registrar.
  
• Transfers to another GoDaddy account: Supported
• Some contact info cannot be changed when transferring .vg domains to another GoDaddy account.
• Domain Privacy: Not Supported
• Domain Protection: Not Supported
• Contact Updates: Supported
• Contact a GoDaddy Guide to update the registrant info on your .vg domain.
  
• Premium CashParking®: Supported
• GoDaddy Auctions®: Not Supported

DNS requirements

• Must use: 1-4 nameservers
• DNSSEC: Not Supported
• IPv4: Supported
• IPv6: Not Supported

.vg domains must use authoritative nameservers. This means the domain must already be configured with a valid DNS zone on the intended nameservers before they can be assigned to your .vg domain.

Cancellation requirements

Cancel the .vg domain in your GoDaddy account and then contact a GoDaddy Guide to complete the process.
