Install or activate the Office apps

Install or activate the Office apps — like Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote and PowerPoint — on your computer or phone. You can have the apps installed on up to 5 devices per user.

Required: You must have a Business Professional, Premium Security or Business Enterprise email plan to install Office apps through the Email & Office Dashboard.

If you already have the Office apps installed on your computer, there's a good chance you can activate them without having to reinstall. If you already have them installed, select the Activate tab. If you don't have them installed, continue to the Install tab.

  1. Sign in to your Email & Office Dashboard:
    • Sign in as a user using your email address and password.
    • Sign in as account owner using your GoDaddy username and password.
  2. In the Email & Office Dashboard, select Download Office. The Welcome Guide for Microsoft 365 will open.
  3. Under Install Microsoft 365 apps on your computer and mobile devices, select an option based on whether you want to install the desktop or mobile version of the Office apps.

  4. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the apps.

You can now access the Office apps on your device.

If you already activated the Office apps on the maximum number of devices, you might encounter an error message saying you have no activations left. You’ll need to uninstall the apps from one device before you can activate them on another device.

  1. Open any Office app, like Excel or Word.
  2. Sign in to your Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy account:
    • On a Windows computer: Select File, and then Account. If you're not signed in, select Sign In. Or, if you're already signed in to a different Microsoft 365 account, under Product information, select Switch license.
    • On a Mac: If you're not signed in, select Sign In. Or, if you're already signed in to a different Microsoft 365 account, in the top menu, select the name of the Office app, and then Sign Out.
  3. In the sign-in window, enter your Microsoft 365 username and password (your GoDaddy username and password won't work here).

Once you're signed in, your Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy license will be activated, and your documents and data will sync with your account.

If signing in to your email account doesn't work, you’ll need to uninstall the Office apps, and then reinstall the version that's part of your Microsoft 365 from GoDaddy plan (using the steps in the Install tab).
