About .eu domains
All .eu domains have the same requirements, restrictions, and supported features, such as registrations and renewals, transfers, and DNS.
Registrations and renewals
Registration of .eu domains is limited to individuals or companies from countries within the European Union.
Note: If you have received a notice from the registry via whoisaccuracy@eurid.eu that your domain is suspended, contact a GoDaddy Guide for assistance.
New registrations
- Registration length: 1-10 years
- Must use: 1-63 characters
- Can use: Letters (a-z characters), numbers (0-9) and hyphens (except in the 3rd and 4th characters of the domain name)
- Cannot use: Special characters (e.g., & or #)
- IDNs (Internationalized Domain Names): Not Supported
Renewals
- Renewal length: 1-10 years
- You can manually renew your domain anytime before expiration. We'll attempt to auto-renew 11 days before expiration, and we'll park the domain after the first failed billing attempt. Redemption fees may be applied within 24 hours of expiration. Check out the standard expiration timeline for details on what happens after expiration.
