Email Issue (Same Domain)

Hello, I’m having a problem sending email to an email that uses the same domain name.

My site’s domain name is callalertcenter.com and the receiver email is <username>@callalertcenter.com. The sending of emails (through a registration form for example) from the site to email addresses works just fine but not on<username>@callalertcenter.com.

To see it in action, I set up a URL that accepts a query string called email:
https://callalertcenter.com/foobar?email=<username>@callalertcenter.com

Take note that the <username> is just a placeholder.

Whatever the value of this query string would be the receiver of the sample email.

This URL will run the following code which is just a simple PHP mail implementation:

$headers = "From: Call Alert Center <registration@callalertcenter.com>\r\n";
$headers .= "MIME-Version: 1.0\r\n";
$headers .= "Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1\r\n";
$headers .= 'X-Mailer: PHP/' . phpversion();

$email = trim($_GET['email']);

if (mail($email, 'Test Mail', 'This is a test email from the live site.', $headers)) {
    echo 'SENT';
} else {
    echo 'NOT SENT';
}

I’m wondering if any of you guys have encountered this before…

Thank you very much.
