Office 365 Email @GoDaddy & Website Hosted @Linode - point the Nameservers?

What I'm trying to do is keep my domain's email here at GoDaddy (O365 Basic) and point the Nameserver records at Linode for web-hosting. What's the correct way of handling this?  The domain is registered at GoDaddy and all records are currently pointing to GoDaddy servers. Do I have to move all the DNS records over to Linode and then point the MX records back here to GoDaddy?  And if so, how?

hello @krogmank,

for webhosting you should only point your A record to the ip of your web host server. Here is a great link that will walk you through that https://www.godaddy.com/help/add-an-a-record-19238

please note that, i offer direct support that is in no way associated with GoDaddy's regular support channels; but, for immediate technical support you can contact me at: https://join.skype.com/t3cxhmNCspqu

Hey there! Sounds like first you need to decide whose name servers you'd like to use (GoDaddy or Linode). Then, at GoDaddy or Linode's "DNS Manager", create an A record pointing to your Linode's IP address.
