Switching from Wordpress Hosting to cPanel

I currently have a subscription to the WordPress hosting for my portfolio site. I have decided I wanted more control over the layout and design of the site and want to switch to a regular cPanel-managed site. Is there a way to switch that myself or do I need to call to do that? The subscription is already paid for and I just want to migrate what I have to a more traditional means of file management.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Switching from Wordpress Hosting to cPanel

There is no auto migration tool on Cpanel as there is with WordPress hosting, so you will have to manually migrate or use a plugin such as Backup Buddy.

Secondly, you will need to speak to someone in support because products don't typically just move from one to another, meaning that what you have spent on the WordPress hosting (depending on how long ago you purchased it) may not be able to be credited to the CPanel hosting. The most important factor would be whether or not it is within the refund window and a hosting rep would tell you. When you call ask for hosting support specifically.
