Link in Bio legacy sites are being retired
We’re retiring Link in Bio sites created on our old platform. This means if you created a Link in Bio on an older version of the GoDaddy Studio app, your site will be retired on January 12, 2025 and you’ll need to recreate your site on our new platform.
Why is the old Link in Bio being retired?
We’ve moved Link in Bio to our Website Builder platform, which offers more functionality, better integration into other GoDaddy products and the ability to easily turn your Link in Bio into a full website later on, if you choose to.
We no longer support the old Link in Bio platform, which means older versions of Link in Bio sites won’t work after January 12, 2025.
How is the new platform different from the old one?
The new platform is the same one our Websites + Marketing customers use to create full websites. This means you get better editing features, such as the ability to replace and delete images; edit your text; and add, update or delete social media and other links. You also get access to more GoDaddy capabilities, such as messaging and marketing, to help you engage customers and grow your business.
You can publish your new site to a GoDaddy URL ending with "godaddysites.com", for example, "coolexample.godaddysites.com". This site is free, but you can also buy a custom domain for your site or link it to an existing domain that you already own. Doing this gives your site more credibility and looks more professional, making it a valuable investment.
How do I start creating my new Sites bio link?
To get started, follow the steps to create a new Sites bio link on our Website Builder.
Can I export my old Link in Bio to the new platform?
Unfortunately there’s no way to export your old Link in Bio to the new platform; you’ll need to recreate it from scratch.
What happens if I don’t take down my old Link in Bio?
After 12 January 2025, any Link in Bio sites built on the old platform will become inactive and your customers will no longer be able to see your site.
I’m not sure which platform I used to build my Link in Bio; how can I check?
If you built your Link in Bio on the old platform, the URL will end with “go.studio”, e.g. “coolexample.go.studio”. If you built it on the new platform, the URL will end with “godaddysites.com”, e.g. “coolexample.godaddysites.com”, or it could be connected to a custom domain.
