Add, generate or replace images in Airo AI Builder

Step 3 of the Airo AI Builder get started series.

Airo AI Builder gives you 2 ways to work with images. Understanding which to use will save you credits and produce better results.

Replace an existing image (no AI credits used)

Use this for simple image swaps where you want to avoid using AI credits.

1. Go to your Airo AI Builder apps page and then select your app or site.
2. Select Settings. If this is your first time, at the top, select New Tab and then select Settings.
3. Select the image you want to replace.
4. In the toolbar that appears, select Replace.
5. Select the new image, and then select Use this image.

Your image updates right away. No prompt is needed and no credits are used.

Add or generate a new image (uses AI credits)

You'll add new images through the chat. Either upload an image from your device, ask Airo AI Builder to create one for you, or find and insert a stock photo.

To use your own image:

1. Go to your Airo AI Builder apps page and then select your app or site.
2. At the lower left, select Add.
3. Select Attach a file and then select an image on your device.
4. Enter a prompt that describes what you want AI to do with the image or file, like "Add this logo to my header" or "Use this photo in my About section."
   Note: When you select + Add you'll also see options to reference a file or take a screenshot. These help you provide context for your request but you can't add the screenshot or file to your website.

To have AI generate a new image or find a stock image:

1. Go to your Airo AI Builder apps page and then select your app or site.
2. In the chat, enter a prompt that explains what you want. For example:
   • "Generate an image of a mountain landscape on a clear day for my hero section."
   • "Find a stock photo of a cozy coffee shop for my hero section."
