Manually restore a backup
To manually restore your site from Website Security Backups, download your backup data and then upload that content back to your hosting server. The instructions for uploading files depends on your hosting server type, as listed below.
Web Hosting (cPanel)
- To upload files:
- Using FileZilla: Mijn cPanel-website verplaatsen via FTP en FileZilla
- Using File Manager: Bestanden uploaden via bestandsbeheer van Linux Hosting
- To restore the site database:
- Using PHPMyAdmin: SQL-bestanden importeren in een MySQL-database
- Using Backup Wizard: Importeer een MySQL -database in Web Hosting (cPanel)
- Using SSH: MySQL -database importeren met SSH
Note: If your database is very large or has many tables, you’ll need to import it using command line.
Managed WordPress
We recommend that you use the Managed WordPress restore function to restore your site. For more information, see Maak een back-up van mijn Managed WordPress-site en zet deze terug.
Windows Hosting (Plesk)
- To upload files:
- Using FileZilla: Upload bestanden naar mijn Windows -hostingaccount met FTP en FileZilla
- Using File Manager: Upload bestanden naar mijn Windows -hostingaccount met Plesk File Manager
- To restore the site database:
- Using PHPMyAdmin: SQL-bestanden importeren in een MySQL-database
- Using Database Dump: Herstel mijn database in Windows Hosting
Note: Restores for migration purposes are out of the scope of support for the Website Security backups team. For migration assistance, please contact the hosting support team.
