I don't get it.
I want a domain. So I search it out and see that it is up for auction. I am told I have to buy a membership to be able to participate in the auction, so I do. Then a day or so later I am told the auction was canceled and I am out the auction and membership fee.
Really?
I understand it is frustrating that you did not get the domain you wanted, but I wouldn't say it's a scam. The membership fee grants you access to the auction network, it does not guarantee you any domain name. GoDaddy is there to facilitate the deal, but the listings are from other members like yourself.
Unfortunately that is the cost of doing business. The fee covers access to the network which connects buyers with sellers. It is still up to the independent users to come to an agreement. If I could relate it to the real estate industry where someone may spend $500 on a piece of property they're looking to purchase while the deal may still not go thru.
So, the cost of doing business is getting scammed?
