Website not showing correctly on Google search

Good Afternoon all, I have recently created and published my website on Go Daddy and have updated the SEO successfully. However when I search my company name on Google my website doesn't appear on the first 10 pages of the search results - in fact I don't know what page it does appear on! Strangley on the 2nd page of the Google search results another page on my website does show - but not the homepage! I have set up Google My Business, so that shows up OK, but why does my home page not show up in the search results? I would expect it to be near the top as my company name is a unique search?

I am a novice at this so there is obviously something I am missing / doing wrong - but would like your help to know what that is?

Also, I would like my Google search result to include site map links like I see other companies have - basically more information displayed within the search results against my company.

Company is BWB Logistics ltd. www.bwblogistics.com.

    thanks for your help!

Make sure you have your site setup in Google Console, that it is verified and that you submit a sitemap.

Google will rank all the pages of your site based on the 100s of factors in the algorithm.  As far as the site links noted after a listing in the SERPs, That is also for Google to decide.  You can read about sitelinks here.

Look at your home page title and meta description to make sure your company name is noted.  Right now you have:

Freight Forwarder and Logistics company based in Southampton specialising in arranging Import and Exports to/from the UK and International House moves.

No company name!  You cannot not rely on the meta keyword tag -- that is pretty much ignored when it comes to gaining rankings.   You'll want to make sure that every page's title AND meta description includes the text you want to be ranked for and that the page's content backs that up.

Thank you very much. I have updated the company name and included it within the description.

I have also set up my site in Google Console no problems, however it will not let me add a sitemap. When I click on 'ADD/TEST SITEMAP' and then type in another page of my site so it shows - http://www.bwblogistics.com/importing (I have typed in 'importing') it comes up with the following error- General HTTP error: 404 not found.

When I add .html to the end so it shows http://www.bwblogistics.com/importing.html, the following error shows - Your Sitemap appears to be an HTML page. Please use a supported sitemap format instead.

Can you help on this issue? Thank you

Google does accept html sitemaps if created properly.  Google has a great page about sitemaps including a list of 3rd party tools to help you out.
