GoDaddy Studio mobile app authentication: What's changing and why
We're changing how identity verification works through the GoDaddy Studio mobile app. The current process will be retired in July 2025, and after a brief gap, we'll introduce a new and improved verification system.
Why are we switching to a new process?
The new system enhances how we verify your identity when you sign in, making account protection even more secure and convenient. It will authenticate you even when your GoDaddy Studio mobile app is not connected to the internet or when you're not signed in on the app. This means more reliable security protection, regardless of your connection status.
When will the old process be stopped?
The current identity verification through the GoDaddy Studio mobile app will stop functioning in July 2025.
When will the new process be available?
We're busy developing the new functionality and will roll it out in phases, beginning in July 2025. We'll let you know by email when it's available for you to use.
Since there'll be a gap between when the old system is retired and when the new system becomes available, you'll continue to be protected by your standard username and password and will receive security alerts by SMS or email.
How does this impact me?
After the current identity verification method stops functioning, if there's unusual activity on your account, you'll no longer receive alerts through the GoDaddy Studio mobile app. Instead, we'll send alerts through your registered SMS number or email address.
By default, your identity verification method will be SMS. If we don't have a phone number for you, the default method will be your email address.
Do I need to do anything right now?
Not at the moment. We'll send you an email with clear instructions when it's time to switch to the new verification method. In the meantime, your account remains secure with your existing username and password.
