Persona is GoDaddy's partner who performs Good As Gold account identity verification for compliance with federal regulations.
Whose identity is being verified?
The verification is for the individual name or organization on the GoDaddy account.
What information do I need to provide?
- Personal identity verification: You need to provide some basic personal details like your full name, date of birth and possibly a government-issued photo ID (like a driver’s license, passport, or national ID card) or other personal documents.
- Business identity verification: You need to provide some basic details about the business and possibly business registration documents. Persons identified as having significant control over the business (like the owner or CEO) may be required to go through individual identity verification with Persona as part of the business verification requirements.
How do I submit my documents?
You can securely upload photos or scans of your documents through the Persona integration. You’ll be guided step-by-step through the process.
What if I don’t have the required documents?
If you don’t have a government-issued photo ID, please contact our support team. We’ll do our best to help you find an alternative solution.
Is my personal information safe?
Yes, your information is kept safe and secure. Persona uses industry-standard security measures and we will never share your details with third parties except as required by law.
What happens if I update the GoDaddy account owner name or organization after completing verification?
You will be required to complete the personal or business identity verification again for the new account owner or organization before you can spend Good As Gold funds.
Can I use my Good As Gold prepaid funds before I’m verified?
You need to complete personal or business identity verification when your account balance is USD$2000 or more. If you do not complete the verification you will not able to make purchases using Good As Gold prepaid funds.
Do I have to verify my identity every time I add funds?
No, you only need to complete personal or business identity verification once, unless your account owner name or organization changes, or we are legally required to update it.
How long does verification take?
Most verifications are completed within a few minutes to a few hours. In some cases, it may take up to 1 business day if we need to review your documents further.
What happens if my verification is not approved?
We’ll let you know what the issue was and how to fix it—usually, you may need to submit a clearer photo or a different document. You can always reach out to our support team for help.
Will identity verification affect my credit score?
No, verifying your identity with us will not affect your credit score in any way.
