Remove GoDaddy Payments

Currently, GoDaddy Payments is a free feature that you can activate in various GoDaddy products, like Websites + Marketing and Managed Hosting for WordPress.

Disconnecting GoDaddy Payments removes it as a payment option in your store. Then if you decide later that you’d like to use it again, you’ll already be set up! We can also help you remove GoDaddy Payments completely from your GoDaddy account.

Remove GoDaddy Payments from your Websites + Marketing store

  1. Sign in to your Dashboard from Websites + Marketing.
  2. Next to GoDaddy Payments, select Disconnect.
  3. Select OK to remove it as a payment option in your store.

Remove GoDaddy Payments from your Managed Ecommerce for WordPress store

  1. Sign in to your Dashboard from Managed Ecommerce for WordPress.
  2. In the left-hand navigation, select WooCommerce.
  3. Under Settings, select Payments.
  4. Under Method, locate GoDaddy Payments and then toggle Enabled to the off position.

Remove GoDaddy Payments from your GoDaddy account

You can keep your GoDaddy Payments account open at no cost. Since fees are only charged when you process transactions, you can leave the account unused until you're ready to accept payments again. If you'd rather close your account, here's how to remove it.

Warning:

Closing your GoDaddy Payments account is permanent. You'll lose access to your transaction history, you will not be able to refund customers, and you'll still be responsible for any chargebacks or fees on transactions you've already taken.

There are a few things to finish first, so you do not lose money or records in the process.

  • Stop taking new payments so nothing new needs to settle.
  • Check that all of your recent transactions have settled. Transactions that have not settled will block the closure, and you will not be able to settle them afterward.
  • Confirm the money from your most recent transactions actually reached your bank account.
  • Make sure you do not have any hardware orders on the way. Wait for them to arrive or cancel them before you continue.
  • Disconnect GoDaddy Payments from anywhere you're using it to take payments, including Websites + Marketing, Managed Hosting for WordPress and WooCommerce.
  • Disconnect your domain from Online Pay Links, if you connected one. If your domain stays tied to the closed account, you will not be able to use it with a different payments account later, if you decide to create one.
  • Download any reports, receipts or transaction records you want to keep.

To delete GoDaddy Payments completely from your account, after you have completed the preparation steps, please contact us for assistance. Our Guides have to close GoDaddy Payments accounts for you.
