Create a cPanel account using WHM

I'm gonna show you how to set up a cPanel account

From the My Products page in your GoDaddy account,

Enter your domain name, but do not include WWW.

A cPanel username will automatically generate.

You can change this to a custom username if desired.

to make a password for you, then enter an email address.

Ensure default is selected for your package,

then scroll to the bottom and select create.

and that's how you create a cPanel account.

Connect to my Linux server with SSH

select Servers, and then select Manage for your server.

We can see the IP address and login credentials.

next to login credentials, select Manage,

enter a new password, and then select Save.

select Enable Admin Access, and then select Save.

This change may take a few minutes to take effect.

In the terminal window, enter your SSH username

Enter your password, and then select the return key.

As a security feature, PuTTY will not display any feedback

We've successfully connected to our server with SSH.

We'll demonstrate a few commonly used SSH commands.

To display your server's current disc usage, type df -h,

To switch to the root user, type sudo su,

Enter your SSH password and then select the return key.

type exit and then select the return key.

make sure your domain's DNS is pointed to your WHM server.

Your domain has been added as a cPanel account

Once you finish these steps, let's get started.

in your GoDaddy account, scroll down, select servers,

to learn about the different SSL providers,

or select the top checkbox to select all your accounts.

Then select Enable AutoSSL on selected users.

A success message will confirm AutoSSL is enabled.

to direct visitors to the SSL we just set up,

Go back to WHM in the search box, enter list accounts,

and then select the cPanel icon for your domain.

turn on the toggle for the domain you want to redirect.

for all the domains you want to redirect.

Your site will now be redirected to HTTPS

And that's how you set up AutoSSL for WHM.

Once inside your cPanel account, you will want to navigate to the Security section and find

The next section you will look for is the certificates.

Click Generate, View, Upload, or Delete SSL Certificates.

From there, you will want to browse for the proper file and upload

Once you have uploaded your certificate, the page will change, stating it has uploaded.

From there, you can return to the SSL manager by clicking the link at

Scroll down to the Install an SSL Website and click Browse Certificates.

When clicking the Browse Certificates, you will get to choose any installed SSL.

Select the certificate you want to activate and click Use Certificate.

This will auto-fill the fields for the certificate.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Install Certificate.

If it successfully installs, you will get a pop-up stating it is installed.

You should now be able to browse to the HTTPS://

That's how you install your SSL onto your cPanel hosting plan.

Set up custom DNS and nameservers in WHM

We'll be starting from the WHM account home screen.

Now, select Edit for your first NS record.

Replace the existing nameserver with ns1.

but replace the existing nameserver with ns2.

Now, at the top right, select Add Record twice

For the first record, under the Name column,

type ns1., then your domain name with a period.

but type ns2., then your domain name with a period.

Ensure the type is set to A for both records.

enter your server IP address for both records.

Then under IP Addresses, enter your server IP address

Next, scroll up to Nameservers and select Change.

Select Enter my own nameservers (advanced).

Then for Nameserver 2, yep, you guessed it.

Type ns2. followed by your domain name, select Save,

select Yes, I consent to update Nameservers

for the selected domains, and then select Continue.
