Publish my Websites + Marketing site


Step 5 of Build my first website with Websites + Marketing

Now that you've built your website, you're ready to share it with the world! You can publish immediately or wait until you've made further refinements; it's entirely up to you.

The publishing section in the top panel lets you preview or publish your site, or unpublish if you’ve previously published.
Preview your website

Preview

Before making your site live, in the top panel, select Preview to ensure everything looks and functions exactly as intended on both a computer and mobile device. This allows you to catch any issues before visitors see your site.

Publish

When you’re ready to make your site public, select Publish. You have 3 options:

  • Use a domain you already own
  • Buy a new domain and link your site to it
  • Use a free GoDaddy URL (coolexample.godaddysites.com)
Note: To use a custom domain you'll need a paid Websites + Marketing plan. Upgrade from a free to a paid plan.

Unpublish

If you need to temporarily take your site offline or correct a mistake, select Unpublish and confirm your decision. While your site is offline, visitors will see a "Coming Soon" page instead of your full website. Our artificial intelligence (AI) creates this temporary page for you, so there’s no additional work required on your part.
