Changing domain name on the hosting account

Help. I assigned my PLESK hosting to a domain name

that I later used for my VPS hosting account. I tried to go

back and change the PLESK shared hosting a different domain name

but can't tell if I did it right or wrong. please help.

    1. I tried to change or cancel or remove the original domain name

but couldn't do it. so I added the new name to the list, and "disabled"

the original name. I still could not choose this name to remove it.

    2. I went back to settings and changed the original domain name

to the new name, and saved the changes, but it still shows as the

    old domain name.

    3. So I went back to the manage section, and again tried

to remove the disabled original domain name, but it won't let me.

what is the correct way to get the original domain name

completely removed as a choice, and only use the new domain name.

(I'm trying to use the original domain name for the VPS server instead

but it is still assigned to the PLESK hosting until this is completely removed)

    HELP! Thanks!

    Hi @emilynghiem

Thanks for taking the time to participate in the GoDaddy Community!

First, I just wanted to let you know that if you've already added the domain in question to your server, simply pointing the domain's DNS toward your server would be enough to get your site back up. You don't really need to worry about removing it, though that is a good idea to avoid future confusion. The proper steps to change your domain on a Plesk hosting account can be found here

I also wanted to let you know I've moved your post to the Building And Managing A Website board, as it was a better fit for the issue you were asking about.

Does anyone else in the community have thoughts on this? Please weigh in.
