    I cannot login to my wordpress site

    When I try to log in to the back end of my wordpress site I get the following: "There has been a critical error!"

    Any idea how I can sort this?

    Thanks

    Hi David,

    It looks like from your included picture that your site is experiencing a common wordpress problem. Essentially you may have had recent plugin, theme, or wordpress version update and somethings conflicting with itself.

    If you can restore a backup to a prior date when the site was functional. Otherwise you can troubleshoot the issue with debug enabled.

    You can follow this article to get debug enabled to see whats causing it.

    If you want to pay GoDaddy to fix it instead of doing it yourself they offer WordPress Premium Support. You can call in and they can help you purchase & setup a ticket.

    @David25

    This typically happens when a plugin update failed

    Step 1) in the File Manager (under tools in the GoDaddy dashboard) edit wp-config.php and look for debug_mode - set this to true and refresh the page with the error

    Step 2) you should see some error codes look for wp-content/plugins/SOMETHING - then you can delete that plugin

    Now you should be able to get into wordpress and re-install the plugin

    Then repeat step 1 and set it to false
