GoDaddy reports that I can't manage DNS because it is not in GoDaddy yet the name servers and IP addresses are all GoDaddy.

This issue was discussed in the forum post here. Essentially, you need to be using GoDaddy default nameservers in order for you to manage DNS. In your example, the nameservers are custom, which means you would need to manage your DNS zone file on the servers you have specified as the domain's nameservers. Hope that helps.
