Web site structure, php driven site.

    Hi All,

I'm in the process of upgrading and moving an old php 5.0 web site from an equally old Godaddy linux server, to a Deluxe Linux site.

Prevoiusly the site looked like this..
/root - index file and a few php files that generate visitor pages.
    /various - site asset folders
/private - (BasicAuth) backend php files for owner to edit site.

I think GoDaddy says it should look like this, is this correct?
    /Public_html - as the root
    /Public_html/various
    /Public_html/private

Should I keep the private folder in the public_html folder?

I've tried running php in other folders that weren't inside Public_html, with no luck.
Is there a cpannel setting or other?

    Thanks for any suggestions,
    DC

    @callicofx,

I think the Structure depends on what framework you're using...

Are you using any PHP applications like WordPress, etc?, or any PHP frameworks...

Please check the respective documentations for building the site...

For core PHP websites!, I think you must use public_html...

    Hi Praveen @p3root,

It's a core php site, so public only, hmm.

Why is php restricted to that folder?

Maybe has something to do with the sites sub.domain possibilities?

    And thanks for the reply
