Adjust the settings on a GoDaddy Smart Terminal
Manage your GoDaddy Smart Terminal settings, including how your customers can get receipts, creating and applying uniform tax rates, managing Smart Terminal users, and reviewing your business and account details.
- Tap Settings on the second page of the Smart Terminal home screen.
- Tap Receipt Settings.
- Switch the toggle to adjust the following settings:
- Store Settings: Offer your customers SMS, email or paper receipts, request customer feedback, increase the font size for your paper receipts, and display only your business’s city/state on the receipt (instead of a full street address).
- Local Settings: Automatically print a receipt when an order is saved and/or paid, or print an extra copy of the customer receipt.
- Built-in Printer and External Printer: Turn the toggles on or off to assign specific receipt types (Order, Customer, Item, Payment or Settlement) to print from internal or external printers. If multiple external printers are connected, you can assign different receipt types to each one.
- Tap Settings on the second page of the Smart Terminal home screen.
- Tap Business settings.
- Adjust or review the following:
- Tax on terminal app: Create and add tax rates to orders created in the Terminal app.
- Transactions and Orders: Choose whether on-device reporting includes orders from all of your store locations or only from the location associated with the device.
- Auto Sign Out and Sleep: Adjust the settings to enable automatic sleep mode after a set period of inactivity and sign active users out of the smart terminal after each transaction or when the device is in sleep mode.
- Business users (Owners only): Add or remove users and assign different permission levels.
- Business Profile, Store Profile and Account Details: Review your company details, like address and banking account info. This information can be updated through the GoDaddy Payments Dashboard.
- Tap Orders on the Smart Terminal home menu.
- In the upper left corner, tap
More, and then tap
Settings. - Tap the toggles to adjust the following settings:
- Online ordering: Turn Online Ordering on or off. Turning Online Ordering off means that your online ordering page and the products sold are still visible, but online ordering is not available.
- Online order notification: Receive a visual notification on the Smart Terminal whenever an order is placed online.
- Online order sound: Hear an audio notification on the Smart Terminal whenever an order is placed online.
- Return reason selection: Turn the toggle on to select from a list of return reasons (like damaged or not as described) whenever a product is refunded through the Smart Terminal.
- Tap Register on the Smart Terminal home menu.
- In the upper left corner, tap
More, and then tap
Settings. - Tap the toggles to adjust the following settings:
- Order auto close: Turn the toggle on to mark all on-device orders as Complete.
- Ask for tip: Automatically include a tip prompt in the order process, if your business is eligible. You can adjust tip settings through your GoDaddy Payments dashboard.
- Receipt settings: Quick link to your on-device receipt settings. Check out the Receipt Settings section of this article for details about customizing your receipts.
- Scan multiple items: Scan multiple items in a row when creating an order. With the toggle turned off, you can still scan multiple items, but you'll need to tap
Barcode after adding each product to scan the next one.
