Find the active WordPress theme in a browser
If you can't sign in to WordPress and you need to check what theme is active on your site, you can do it from a browser using keyboard shortcuts.
Note: This method only works if the site pages are functioning properly. If the site is showing an error, you can find the active theme in the database.
- Open your site in a browser of your chioce.
- Press Ctrl+U for Windows (or Command+Option+U for macOS) to view the page source.
- Press Ctrl+F for Windows (or Command+Option+F for macOS), and then enter themes in the box that appears.
- Look for the highlighted word themes in lines of code that begin with link rel='stylesheet'. These links are tied to the theme itself. In the link, the theme name will be after /themes/. In this example, it's twentytwentytwo.
