I'd like to help, but I'm not sure specifically what you're asking. Would this be a domain you are newly registering, one you are investment-buying, or one you are transferring? You can do what-ifs on the website for new domains and transfers. If you are buying one, just take the price of the domain and look up a renewal and factor that in the price.
A couple of suggestions, always do this when you are logged in to assure you are getting the best pricing (for example if you're a member of the Discount Domain Club). And secondly, if it is an investment or aftermarket domain, I always suggest registering for a minimum of 5 years at the time of purchase, because that is when you usually get the best prices as well (especially if you are transferring in).
If I misunderstood or didn't include enough details, 24/7 Support is always here to fill in the blanks.
I hope that helps,
