Change SSL Cert's Common Name

I am trying to change the common name of an SSL certificate I got through GoDaddy from [website].com to *.[website].com.

The help articles so far have led me to https://certs.godaddy.com/cert. This only allows me to choose a domain name from a dropdown list - which *.[website].com is not in.

Is there a way around this that wouldn't require me to get a new certificate?

What type of certificate did you purchase? *.[website].com requires a wildcard SSL.

You're right; it is a standard certificate.

@Screendeadso there is no way to use standard certificate for sub domain?

You can, but standard certs only cover one domain or subdomain. I've already used it on my main domain, so couldn't also use it on a subdomain of the same site.
If you want to cover all subdomains on a site, it's probably best to get a wildcard SSL.

Hope this helps!
