Add a subdomain that points to an IP address

Now that you understand what a subdomain is, you can add non-forwarded subdomains that point to IP addresses. If you want to forward a subdomain, see Manually forwarding or masking your domain or subdomain.

Looks like you're not logged in. If you log in above (under Text Icon), we can save you a couple of steps.

  1. Go to the DNS Management page.
  2. At the bottom of the Records list, click Add and select A from the Type drop-down menu.
  3. Complete the other fields:
    • Host - Enter the subdomain you want to use.

Note: The subdomain can include a period (.) but not as the first or last character. Consecutive periods (...) are not allowed. A subdomain cannot exceed 25 characters.

    • Points to - Enter the IP address you want the subdomain to point to.
    • TTL - Select how long the server should cache the information.
  4. Click Save.
