Bulk domain transfer FAQ
Why should I transfer my domains to GoDaddy?
Bulk domain transfers are charged by the name at a flat fee, so you pay nothing beyond the initial cost and the ICANN fee, where applicable. We also let you keep any time left on your current registrations and throw in a free year of registration for each transfer.** Depending on how many domains you’re moving, this could add up to sizable savings.
Can I save more on my bulk transfer?
Yes, if you want to. Standard bulk transfer pricing already applies automatically, no membership required. Join Discount Domain Club and wholesale pricing stacks on top of that, for this transfer and every renewal after it.
Are there any limits on when I can transfer my domains?
You can transfer your domains almost any time. However, ICANN prohibits domain transfers within 60 days of registration or prior transfer. The 60-day lock doesn’t apply to some domain extensions.
How do I transfer more than one domain at a time?
Transferring domains in bulk is simple.
- Unlock each of the domain names you’d like to transfer with your current registrar.
- Get an authorization code (also known as an EPP code or transfer key) from your current registrar. This isn’t necessary in all cases, such as when transferring country-code domains (ccTLDs). If the authorization code isn’t shown to you, ask your registrar to email it to you.
- Verify contact information on your domain name. The administrator's contact information may be used by your current registrar during the transfer process.
You can transfer up to 500 of your domains to GoDaddy at once, listing each one on a separate line in our bulk domain transfer tool. If the extension you’d like to transfer isn’t listed, that domain can’t be transferred to us.
Please note there are special instructions for transferring country-code domains to GoDaddy.
How long will it take for my transfers to go through?
Most domain transfers take five to seven days to complete. The time it takes varies depending on the extension. For details on transferring country-code domains, see our country-code domain transfer guide.
Can I check the progress of my domain transfers?
Absolutely. On your Transfers page, you’ll find your incoming transfers, as well as advice on how to resolve outstanding transfer issues, if there are any. For more, see our guide to checking your transfer status.
What, and when, will I be charged to maintain my domain?
You’ll only be charged automatically if auto-renew is turned on. When your domain renews, you’ll pay the then-current annual retail price, unless you’re a Discount Domain Club member paying the membership rate instead.
