About .SYDNEY domains

State of New South Wales is the sponsor and Neustar is the backend provider for the .SYDNEY extension.

Registrations and renewals

Anyone can register .SYDNEY domains on a first-come, first-served basis. All .SYDNEY domains have the same registration and renewal requirements.

• New registrations
  
  • Registration length: 1-10 years
  • Must use: 1-63 characters
  • Can use: Letters (a-z characters), numbers (0-9) and hyphens (except in the 3rd and 4th characters of the domain name)
  • Cannot use: Special characters (e.g., & or #)
  • IDNs (Internationalized Domain Names): Not Supported
• Renewals
  
  • Renewal length: 1-10 years
  • You can manually renew your domain anytime before it expires. We'll attempt to auto-renew on the expiration date, and we'll park the domain after the first failed billing attempt. Redemption fees may be applied 12 days after expiration. Check out the standard expiration timeline for details on what happens after expiration.
