Problems with the GoDaddy Smart Terminal Flex printer

If your GoDaddy Smart Terminal Flex isn’t printing order receipts, or the receipts are printing faintly, try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve issues with the internal smart terminal printer.

Note: If you’re using a GoDaddy Poynt Smart Terminal (instead of a Smart Terminal Flex), follow our steps for troubleshooting printer issues on the GoDaddy Smart Terminal.

We recommend completing the steps in the following order until you find the one that resolves your issue.

Step 1: Reload the printer paper roll

If your smart terminal won't print a receipt, make sure the paper is loaded correctly and there are no obstructions in the paper compartment. This device uses 2.25" x 50' thermal printer paper rolls (not ink).

  1. Open the paper roll cover at the top of the device.

  2. If a paper roll is already loaded, remove the roll and clear out any scraps of shredded paper in the compartment.
  3. Insert the paper roll into the compartment and pull the roll until about 2 inches of paper extends from the top of the device.
  4. Hold the end of the paper and close the lid cover until you hear a "click."
  5. Remove the excess paper by tearing along the serrated edge.

  6. Try printing the receipt again.

Step 2: Check the battery level

Swipe down from the top of the screen to verify the current battery charge. The battery must be at 20% or higher to print. Receipts also print more faintly when the battery is low. If the smart terminal has less than 20% power, or if the receipts are printing too lightly, connect the smart terminal to a power source to charge the battery.

Step 3: Reboot and run a print test

  1. Press and hold the power button for about 3 seconds.
  2. Tap Restart on the menu that appears.
  3. After the device reboots, tap Settings on the second page of the smart terminal home screen.
  4. Tap Accessory, then tap Test Printer, and then tap Print Test to print out a test receipt.
