The GoDaddy app won't open on my Android device

If you're using the GoDaddy app on Android and get stuck after signing in through the browser, this issue is caused by certain browser settings that prevent the app from launching automatically after login.

To fix the problem, you need to change your mobile browser settings to allow links to open external apps. Here's how to do that for popular browsers on Android.

Brave

  1. Tap the menu icon android three dot menu and select Settings, then select Site Settings, and finally select External Apps.
  2. Select Allow or Ask every time.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Tap the menu icon microsoft edge menu and select Settings, and then select Site settings.
  2. Select Block opening external apps, and next to the GoDaddy app select the trash icon.

Firefox

  1. Tap the menu icon android three dot menu and select Settings.
  2. Scroll to the Advanced section and then select Open links in apps.
  3. Select Ask before opening.

Opera Mini

  1. Select Opera select opera icon and then select the settings icon select opera settings icon.
  2. Select Advanced, and then select External links permissions.
  3. Select Allow.

After you update settings

Try signing in through the GoDaddy app again. After you authenticate in the broswer, the app should launch automatically and complete the sign-in process.

More info

If updating your mobile browser settings did not work, make sure the GoDaddy app is installed and updated, and that you've granted all permissions requested by the app. If the problem persists, try a different browser.
