Add a promotional banner to my website

Sometimes you have breaking news that needs to grab customers’ attention as soon as they land on your site. Use a promotional banner (a colorful ribbon at the top of your site) to direct customers to the latest news and promotions your business has to offer.

Note: You can also use a pop-up box for this purpose, especially if you want to add an image.
  1. Go to your GoDaddy product page.
  2. Scroll down, expand Websites + Marketing and select Manage next to your website.
  3. Select Edit Website or Edit Site to open your website builder.
  4. Select your header section (the first section on your home page).
  5. In the editing panel on the right, select Promotional Banner.
  6. Switch on the Show promotion toggle.
  7. Edit your custom message and select a seasonal decoration, or select None to show a plain banner. You can also choose to animate the seasonal decoration by switching on the Animated Decoration toggle.
  8. If you choose to add a link, switch on the Add Link toggle, and then you can link to:
    • A page and section within your website
    • A separate URL, such as a social media page
    • A phone number
    • An email
    • A product category (for example, Newest), if you're using the Commerce plan (compare plans and pricing)
  9. When you're finished, select Done.
  10. Your changes are saved automatically. Use Preview to see the results, and when you're ready to make the changes public, publish your site.
