filezilla 530 error - but password is correct

Command: USER ****@****.com
Response: 331 User ****@****.com OK. Password required
Command: PASS ************
Response: 530 Login authentication failed
Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server

I have downloaded the filezilla configuration files and I've also put in the host/user/password myself. I've created more accounts with various passwords, and none of them work. This is not my account so I don't know if he has ever used ftp on here before, but nothing will work. My filezilla works with every other server that I work on, and I've updated to the latest version. It has firewall access.

hello @gig4b0,

I  apologize for the inconveniences you are facing. Your error:

Critical error: Could not connect to server

states that your local filezilla client could not connect to your host. First, if you have shell access check if your ftp service is running.

If your ftp service is running or you do not have access to shell, check if port 22 or 21 is being used

If your server is using port 22 or 21 then your host or port is incorrect.
