I just bought Microsoft Office 2016 and want to set up my Outlook email. Any suggestions on how to do this quickly and easily?
Solved! Go to Solution.
If you are using the workspace email there is a dialogue that will actually do the setup for you. If you want to do it manually, you can click on the line that says "Email Configuration". The instructions are pretty easy to follow. In office 2016 >> File -- You'll see an box that says Account Settings, click it then Add a New Account. You will probably have to set the servers manually so be sure to get the information from your workspace email to be accurate. GoDaddy uses pop3.secureserver.net and smtpout.secureserver.net as the primary services and I've found this to work best.
Hope it helps!
Welcome to the community! Those notices mean you're running out of storage. You'll need to free up space. You will want to log into your account in web mail to delete some messages. If you're downloading to a client now, you may want to set that client up to delete the messages from the server after download.
I am unable to set up my outlook email. It shows message 'cannot find email server. Verify your server information in your account properties.' Whether its problem in Outlook 2016?
I am using outlook 2016 and I can't seem to log on to my incoming mail server. All the settings used work fine with when using outlook 2010 and Thunderbird.
Incoming server: pop.secureserver.net port 995 (tried 110 as well)
Out: smtpout.asia.secureserver.net / smtpout.secureserver.net ports 465, 25
Encryption options, selected, ssl and auto detect.
I have resent the email password on the server as well and tried with the same outcome.
Hope someone could help!
I found the solution it is now working for me. I did the following.
tools ,account settings, new email.....
more settings, my out going server requires authentication. checked the box to use the same settings as my incoming server.
finally on the advanced tab incoming server (Pop 3) change to 995 check box for this server requires an encrypted ssl
outgoing server (smtp) 465
use the following type of ssl choose ssl from the dropdown menu.
It works I did this for one . of my emails all the other with the same account loaded automatically after that. Happy days good luck
I want nothing to do with GD storing my emails online etc. I only want GD to deliver and send my email to my email software, which is Microsoft Outlook 2016. I do NOT want my emails sitting on your servers. I do NOT want to connect to Office 365. I do NOT want to buy into your online Office 365 package. I only want to process my emails via Outlook here on my computer like I do with all other emails using other providers, i.e. 101Domain, etc. How do I do this??? If I have to buy-in to your version of Outlook online, please tell me so I can switch to 101Domains. Thanks.
Tried the settings you shared but the outlook2016 still gives error message and I am unable to add new mail. Domain is hosted on godaddy and email server is also by godaddy. Office365 license is directly from microsoft. Unable to figure out the problem. Appreciate help Thanks Srinivasa
I was able to get email on Microsoft 365 link and copy the server settings to Outlook 2007 and also to my Droid Turbo Email successfully:
Using Outlook 2007 and on Android MOTOEMAIL
Incoming Server name: outlook.office365.com
Encryption method: TLS
Outgoing Server name: smtp.office365.com
Encryption method: STARTTLS
What worked for me was a combo of things mentioned above: Thanks Folks!
From File -->Account Settings: click Add Account
Enter email address, click Advanced options, tick "Let me set up my account manually" box
Choose POP as account type
Make sure to use these settings, if not autofilled:
encryption method: choose from dropdown menu: SSL/TLS
tick “Require Logon” box for both Incoming and Outgoing mail
other boxes: un-ticked (empty)
Enter password and save (if desired)
ok also spent many hours trying to make this work. This worked for me
( outlook 2016 on Windows 10 )
- account type: IMAP
- Incoming Server: outlook.office365.com
- Outgoing Server: outlook.office365.com (the same)
- "require logon using Secure Password Authentication" checked
Then under more settings:
- under Outgoing server tab select " My outgoing server requires authentication"
- select " use same settings as my incoming mail server"
Then under advanced tab use :
- incoming server 993 with SSL
- outgoing server 587 with TLS
The IMAP settings worked for a few days in Outlook but then I stopped receiving email
I was told to delete the account and then the emails would appear. I did this 3 times.
Now I am trying the Pop settings Hopefully that will work
i still have the same problem. Can't manage to set up my go daddy email onto the outlook 2016. I can't seem to find what the problem is, still popping the error message. I have already tried all the tips you gave. SOS
