Create and apply discounts

Create and manage custom product or order discounts from the GoDaddy Smart Terminal Duo or through the Dashboard in your web browser. Discounts that are already associated with an item or catalog will be automatically applied during the order process.

You can also manually apply a discount to a specific product or order when you create the order in the Register app.

Note: Discounts that you create in GoDaddy Payments don’t carry over to orders placed through the GoDaddy Commerce app. To discount an item in a Commerce app order, use the Keypad to manually enter the final amount instead of adding an item from the product catalog.

Create discounts in your Dashboard to apply to products in a specific catalog. Applicable discounts are automatically applied during the order process.

  1. Sign in to your In Person Overview page (use your GoDaddy username and password).
  2. Select Catalogs. (You'll need to create a catalog for your Smart Terminal if you haven’t already.)
  3. Select a catalog where you want to apply a discount.
  4. Below your catalog’s name, select Discounts, and then Add discount.
  5. In the Code field, enter a name to help differentiate this discount from others you create.
  6. Set the Type to either Percentage % or Fixed amount.
  7. Enter a discount Percentage (%) or Amount ($).
  8. Switch on the Pre-tax toggle to apply the discount before tax is applied to the order.
  9. Select Save.

Create discounts on your Smart Terminal to apply to items in a specific catalog or category. Applicable discounts are automatically added during the order process.

  1. On the Smart Terminal home screen, tap Catalog.
    • To change to a different catalog, tap Switch, then tap the catalog name.
  2. Apply a discount to items in a specific category or to all items in the catalog:
    • All items in a category: Tap the category name, tap Disc, and then tap Add Discount.
    • All items in the catalog: Tap Disc and then tap Add Discount.
  3. In the Code field, enter a name to help differentiate this discount from others you create.
  4. Set the Type to either % (percentage) or $ (fixed amount).
  5. Enter a discount Percent (%) or Amount ($).
  6. Switch on the Pre-Tax toggle to apply the discount before tax is applied to the order.
  7. Tap Done.

  1. On the Smart Terminal home screen, tap Register.
  2. Create an order.
  3. Manually apply a discount to the full order or to a specific product in the order:
    • Full order: Tap the expand expand icon icon, then tap Discount. Add either an existing or custom discount:
      • To add an existing discount from your catalog: Tap your desired discount, then tap Confirm.
      • To add a custom discount: Enter your desired discount amount (in either dollar or percentage value). Turn the Tax after discount toggle on or off as desired. Tap Confirm.
    • Specific product: Tap Order, then tap Edit icon Edit next to the item. Tap +Add next to Discount, then add either an existing or custom discount:
      • To add an existing discount from your catalog: Tap your desired discount, then tap Confirm.
      • To add a custom discount: Enter your desired discount amount (in either dollar or percentage value). Turn the Tax after discount toggle on or off as desired. Tap Confirm.
    • Complete the transaction with the customer's desired form of payment.
