Post-processing of the image likely failed because the server is busy.....

SIgned up and created a new WordPress website Sunday, uploading a few images successfully to create a basic site whilst we work on adding more content. Tried to upload images (various name lengths, formats, sizes, Monday & Tuesday) but every time I'm getting the error message:

Post-processing of the image likely failed because the server is busy or does not have enough resources. Uploading a smaller image may help. Suggested maximum size is 2500 pixels.

I've tried a few possible googled solutions (including one that crashed the website and needed a restore), but nothing has worked so what is the answer?

    Thank you for reading.

So what is the dimensions of your image - You can have a small (file size image) with large dimensions and what happens is WordPress gets hung up in creating the smaller sized versions of it
