Customize my Websites + Marketing email automations

Prompt communication is key in building a successful online business. When a customer orders a product, books an appointment or has a shipment headed their way, they'll want to be kept updated on the status.

Email automations are useful time savers that help keep your customers in the loop without requiring you to manually send every single email. Websites + Marketing includes email automations for:

  • Submitted orders
  • Order shipments
  • Appointment bookings
  • Welcome emails (subscribers, members, first-time customers)
  • Shipment deliveries
  • Order cancellations
  • Abandoned cart recoveries

Customize your email automations from your Websites + Marketing dashboard:

  1. Go to your GoDaddy product page.
  2. Scroll down, expand Websites + Marketing and select Manage next to your site.
  3. On your dashboard, expand Customers, and then select Automations.
  4. Next to the email automation you'd like to customize, select Edit to open the email automation editor.

Customize the look and content of the email automation

Personalize the style of the messages your customers will receive.

  • Choose Theme: Select a premade theme.
  • Edit Styles: Edit your background colors, font, text size and color, buttons and logo.

Customize the contents of your messages to match the style and tone of your brand.

  • Enter a custom subject line or have artificial intelligence (AI) do the thinking for you.
  • Add your business logo. You can upload one or let AI create a logo for you.
  • Upload a banner image.
  • Customize the email message.

Customize text and select dynamic autofill options

Personalize certain phrases, like the salutation, so each person receiving your emails feels connected to the message you're automating.

  1. Select placeholder text that's highlighted with a grey box to reveal the autofill option menu.
  2. Select the Caret menu item downward arrow to choose your autofill preference (e.g., your customer's first name or full name) from the dropdown menu.
  3. Select the Check mark confirm menu item checkmark to confirm your autofill selection.
  4. Note: Your email preview will continue to show the placeholder word. The grey box indicates an active autofill for that word. That word will be dynamically replaced for each recipient based on your autofill selection.
  5. Highlight any text to reveal the editor for style options.
  6. Select email automations text editor placeholder autofill tag tag to turn the highlighted text into a placeholder for dynamic autofill.
