Get customer consent to send text messages from my toll-free number
As part of industry efforts to reduce spam messages, businesses using verified toll-free numbers (TFN) need to get permission from customers before sending them text messages.
To help you comply with this industry requirement, we automatically ask each person you want to text through GoDaddy Conversations to consent to receive messages from your verified TFN.
Note: Getting consent from customers is separate from verifying your TFN, where you register your business to verify its legitimacy.
- Recipients must consent to receiving texts from your TFN by replying "start" to the automatic message they'll receive. The message will be sent the first time someone texts your TFN or if you text them and they haven't previously consented.
Customer sends you a message.

Message you get before you can reply.
- The recipient must reply "start" to confirm consent before your messages can be delivered.
- After the recipient gives consent, you'll be prompted to resend any messages you've already sent.

- The recipient can reply "stop" at any time to opt out of receiving messages from you.
- If a person has opted out, they can reply "start" or "unstop" at any time to resubscribe.
