Our recap: FemTech conference

Women in tech

FemTechConf is a female-tech conference made to empower the women in tech community. On September 24 to 25, GoDaddy Pro sponsored the event for a second year. Since founding FemTech, the mission was to empower, educate and champion women and TGNC in the tech field. The first occurrence in 2020 brought together individuals from 95 countries.

Women currently represent less than 25% of those employed in IT and less than one in four tech founders. Female representation within tech leadership is even lower, showing a serious problem not only within hiring but also within the promotion of women in tech.

Benefits of attending

This conference isn’t just about amazing talks, inspiration and motivation, but also about incredible networking opportunities, provided by bringing together thousands of industry professionals. In September the FemTechConf community gathered again to share in this amazing community experience.

GoDaddy Pro sponsored

Leading up to FemTechConf, GoDaddy Pro EMEA hosted a panel discussion about personal and professional traits valuable to building a successful career in Tech. Besides contributing to tech, a number of initiatives were shared, promoting:

  • Physical wellness

Courtney spoke

Courtney Robertson, our GoDaddy Pro Web Designer and Developer Advocate, was invited to share during this event. Throughout her career, Courtney has felt like at some points, she was thriving, and at other points, she was just barely surviving. Isn’t life like that for many of us?

In addition to career growth, Courtney shared about the struggles with miscarriages, NICU babies, and family challenges. Juggling our other roles and careers can be such a challenge. Courtney closed out this talk with inspiration to carry us forward in all areas of life.

GoDaddy Diversity

Diversity is not an afterthought at GoDaddy. Women at GoDaddy earn pay equal to their male counterparts. We’ve received a score of 100 for several consecutive years with HRC, which reflects our focus on LGBTQ+ and transgender/non-conforming care.
