While your registrar of choice may be GoDaddy, many owners have domains dotted around other platforms.
Keeping track of vital information for your domains at multiple registrars can be tough. The solution for most owners is a spreadsheet that needs to be manually updated every time you make a domain change.
Global Portfolio, a new benefit for Discount Domain Club members, replaces your manual portfolio tracking entirely. Your external domains now show up right in your GoDaddy portfolio manager alongside everything else you own, with data refreshed every day.
Introducing Global Portfolio

Exclusive to Discount Domain Club, Global Portfolio transforms your GoDaddy portfolio into your primary place to monitor and manage domains, wherever they are registered.
By tracking your external domains, Global Portfolio centralizes your management through visibility-first insights, updated daily.
Avoid accidental domain expiration, nameserver mishaps, or crucial portfolio gaps through this new offering for Discount Domain Club members.
Once added and verified, you’ll see important information about your external domains, including:
- Registrar: see where your domain name is registered
- Expiration date: identify and take action on expiring domains
- Lander: sell with confidence by ensuring you point to an Afternic lander
- Registrar lock: check your domains are secure at your registrar
- SSL status: shows if your security certificate is active or needs attention
- DNSSEC: is domain name security is enabled to prevent DNS spoofing attacks
- WHOIS: public directory used to look up the ownership and registration details
Setting your Global Portfolio up
Setup takes a few minutes per registrar. After that, there's nothing to maintain. Global Portfolio handles the daily updates automatically.
- Open the External Domains tab. In your Portfolio manager at GoDaddy, click External Domains (BETA) next to GoDaddy Domains.
- Add your domains. Click Add Domains. Type or paste up to 100 names at a time, or import them from a CSV, XLS, or XLSX file.
- Copy your TXT verification value. You'll see a verification prompt with a TXT record value. Copy it. The same value works for every unverified domain on your account, so you only need it once.
- Add the TXT record at the external registrar. Log in to the registrar where the domain is held, open its DNS settings, and add a TXT record using the value from step 3. DNS updates can take up to 2 hours to propagate.
- Leave the TXT record in place. Worth flagging to anyone who manages DNS on your behalf: the record needs to stay there for ongoing tracking. If it gets removed, the domain stops syncing. It doesn't affect mail, web, or anything else, so there's no reason to delete it later.
Once verified, the domain appears in your External Domains view. Global Portfolio keeps the data current from there. You don't need to check it manually.
For Afternic sellers: the Lander column
If you list on Afternic, the External Domains view includes a Lander column. It shows whether each external domain is currently pointed at an Afternic Sales Lander. Sellers using an Afternic Sales Lander pay up to 40% less commission.
For anyone with names across registrars, it answers a question that previously meant exporting data from every registrar and reconciling by hand: which of my external domains aren't pointing at an Afternic lander?
