IT'S ALIVE!!!! GoDaddy Pro Hub has launched to the US
Last month, we announced an open Beta for our new GoDaddy Pro experience called "the Hub." You can read about in in the December GoDaddy Pro Update post.
We saw a steady increase in opt-ins, collected feedback, got some bugs worked out, and pushed the new experience live just today, along with a new design for our GoDaddy Pro page on the website.
Watch this cool video one of our brand teams made for the launch:
Existing GoDaddy Pro users can opt in
If you're an existing GoDaddy Pro member, you don't automatically have the new experience. Since it takes over your dashboard, we didn't want to change the experience you're used to yet. For now, the new experience is only being automatically applied to new sign-ups. You can opt-in to the Hub here if you want to try it out: https://hub.godaddy.com/ (don't worry, you can still opt-out again if you don't like it).
Surprisingly, I haven't actually heard as much about it from the WordPress community as I would have expected. That may be because it's offered by WordPress.com not WordPress.org (important difference). There was a little concern that it undercuts freelancers, but others weren't worried because the starting price ($4.900) is much less than they charge and WordPress.com isn't self-hosted.
New & improved Whitehouse.gov
A lot of us were excited to see the new Whitehouse.gov site and even more excited that it still uses WordPress. What's probably most notable is that the new version has accessibility tools for contrast & font size. Take a look: https://www.whitehouse.gov/
