Manage DNS records

Domains using GoDaddy nameservers can add, edit or delete DNS records in your GoDaddy account.

  1. Domain is registered with GoDaddy and is using GoDaddy nameservers: DNS settings are managed in the GoDaddy account with the domain.
  2. Domain is not registered with GoDaddy and is using GoDaddy nameservers: DNS settings are managed in the GoDaddy account with the domain. This is common when using DNS Hosting.
  3. Domain is not registered with GoDaddy and is not using GoDaddy nameservers: DNS settings are managed through at a different DNS or hosting provider, not GoDaddy.

Add, edit or delete DNS records for domains using GoDaddy nameservers.

  • A record: The primary DNS record used to connect your domain to an IP address that directs visitors to your website, including subdomains that point to an IP address. Add / Edit / Delete
  • CNAME: Add a prefix to your domain name that points to another domain or subdomain. A CNAME cannot point to an IP address. Add / Edit / Delete
  • MX record: Manages email delivery to make sure your email messages get to your inbox. Different email services use different MX records, and email with GoDaddy is automatically set up for you. Add / Edit / Delete
  • TXT record: Displays text in your domain's DNS that can verify domain ownership and setup email sender policies. Add / Edit / Delete
  • SPF record: A type of TXT record that lets you set up email sender policies. Add / Edit / Delete
